The Greater Santa Clarita Optimist Club is a major sponsor of the Santa Clarita 4th of July parade, and has been since 1997. During this time we have helped over 9,900 kids in the Santa Clarita Valley. A few of the other projects we are involved in:

The Essay Contest requires students under the age of 19 to compose a 400 to 500 word essay around a central idea to develop their writing and critical thinking skills.
The Oratorical Contest is open to students under the age of 16. Students are required to prepare a 4 to 5 minute speech on a pre-assigned topic. Winners compete at higher levels for a $2,500.00 scholarship.

We are proud to join Optimists all over with the Childhood Cancer Champaign. Come celebrate with us and a number of Santa Clarita based activities in the battle to eliminate childhood cancer. Our support is ’hands on’ whenever possible and financial whenever and however we can.

Each year hundreds of visually impaired youth come together at the facilities of Junior Blind of America and compete in various track & field events.
The Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club is honored to participate these days of fun and happiness,
as well as wonderful memories that stay forever.

Our social events are great fun, especially our casino night. We do make a difference and we invite you to inquire about membership.
Our goals are to help as many children as possible and to support each other in these efforts.

We provide a service to help keep your child safe by,
with your permission, getting your child’s fingerprints for you to keep as an important form of identification.
Fingerprints change as the child gets older and should be updated every 6 months to a year until the child has grown.
